![]() ![]() ![]() Dixon is a big, gorgeous solid palomino paint gelding with talent and personality to spare. He was started at two years old using a combination of Parelli and Clinton Anderson techniques. He's had extensive ground training and has wonderful ground manners. He's mid-Level 2 in the Parelli program and has attended several Parelli clinics, as well as trail clinics with a variety of challenges and obstacles. He's been ridden many miles in all kinds of terrain and conditions, through open pastures filled with cattle, up and down rocky hills, through ponds and streams, in heat and cold and pouring rain, under saddle and bareback. He has spent several months at a professional trainer's, and his reining and bending are smooth and flexible. He has great lateral and vertical flexion. He is capable of great speed (Jet Deck and Three Bars on the top of his pedigree) but only when his rider asks for it. He is a very talented horse who loves people and wants to please them. He is kind and gentle. Dixon neck reins beautifully, responds sensitively to his cue. He has a comfortable slow, collected trot and a nice comfy lope. He can spin slowly. He meets you at the gate every morning, ready and eager to work. He loads easily and loves to be bathed and handled. He walks right out and "listens" attentively to what you ask from him. He's a great people horse who needs an owner that will not only love and care for him, but will fulfill his need for human companionship. Dixon likes to be with other horses and is very laid back. Dixon prefers a lot or pasture with a run-in to a stall. He doesn't crib or have any bad habits but he just doesn't enjoy being confined for days at a time. Please contact us for more information.
